More than 50,000 forms are now being delivered to homes across Erewash as part of the annual canvass to update the voting register.
Erewash Borough Council is urging residents to respond to the form by either confirming the details are correct or by making any necessary changes.
The Household Enquiry Forms are being hand-delivered and all homes will have received one by the end of this month. The forms are aimed at keeping the electoral register up to date and to ensure that everyone who is eligible to vote is on the register.
Residents can confirm their details are correct or make changes at www.register-online.co.uk by using the 10 digit security code that is printed on their form.
Councillor Gerri Hickton, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:
“We have to check the Register of Electors every year and we would ask everyone to take action as soon as they receive their form – please don’t put it to one side and forget about it. When any election is held, residents only have a vote if they are on the register so it is vital that you respond.”
