Empty Shop Signage Grant Scheme 2023-2025

Opening a new business in an empty shop in Ilkeston or Long Eaton town centre? Why not apply for Erewash Borough Council’s new grant scheme? Our Empty Shop Signage Grant Scheme has been created to help new businesses to purchase signage if they are opening in a formerly empty shop in one of our town centres. Up to £2,000 is available for each eligible applicant to have a shop sign designed, made, and installed to give a boost to new businesses and brighten up the high streets. Applications should be made prior to opening.

Manufacturing Research & Development Grants

Erewash manufacturing businesses are encouraged to apply for the Council’s new R&D Grant scheme, which is now live. The Grants are designed to support local small and medium enterprises* in developing and piloting new products or services to help improve their businesses.

Erewash based SME in the manufacturing sector can apply for grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 and are required to provide 33% of match-funding for the projects. This Grant funding is a great opportunity to invest in cutting-edge research and the development of highly skilled people needed to support UK manufacturing innovation and boost sustainable growth in Erewash. There will be 2 further rounds of funding in 2024. Dates for these will be posted here in due course.
