Public Health Trust Fund - Active Communities Funding Programme

Local groups and organisations with great ideas to make their communities even better places to live are invited to apply for funding to turn their ideas into reality.

Active Communities is a funding programme for community groups and not-for-profit organisations, with an income of less than £350,000 a year or an average of £350,000 over two years. 

It's for small and local projects seeking investment of between £5,000 and £40,000 for projects lasting up to two years that are genuinely designed and run by local people, for example, on an estate, in a few streets or in villages.

Applications are encouraged from communities of interest i.e. groups of people who have things in common and wish to come together to address something that is important to them. These ideas could be based in one neighbourhood or cover a wider area but they must live close enough to each other to meet up regularly.

Homelink Crisis Emergency Grants Fund

On 31 March 2020 Homelink announced that it had established a fund  to support local groups across the UK, who are financially affected by demands on their resources due to the coronavirus outbreak. The following grants are available:

Awards up to £5,000 for short-term responses to the coronavirus emergency (projects within 3 months), following a limited/fast-tracked application process (payments made in advance)

Awards up to £10,000 to fund more structural needs, following a full application process (see below) (payments made in advance)

Awards up to £50,000 to fund long-term needs and potential expansion or change in service delivery, following a full application process (payments in advance, but with potential for staged payments over a specified period).

East Midlands Airport COVID-19 Community Relief Fund

The East Midlands COVID-19 Community Relief Fund is now live. Voluntary, community and charitable organisations that are helping people during the pandemic are invited to apply for a grant.

Grants will be awarded to provide funds for supplies and equipment, publicity materials or other critical items that are required to enable groups to deliver their COVID-19 emergency response.
