Community Safety is a nationally recognised term widely used by politicians, practitioners and academics who are involved in localised action against crime, anti-social behaviour, re-offending and the fear of these.

Across the country, local Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) were introduced in 1998, and are made up of a number of statutory organisations that are required by law to work together to reduce crime, disorder, reoffending and the public’s perceptions of these.

In Erewash, these organisations include:

These organisations, along with many others including the voluntary sector and residents, work together to address the community safety needs of Erewash communities.

Erewash Community Safety Partnership is committed to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour across our communities.
Using the Derbyshire Strategic Risk & Threat Areas, the data and statistics in the 2016 Community Safety Strategic Intelligence Assessment and by listening to our communities, Erewash CSP has identified four priorities that are of concern in our communities for 2020-2023. These can be found in our 2020-2023 Partnership Plan.
