A Statement of Licensing Policy is required under the provisions of Section 5 of the Licensing Act 2003 and the current policy was formally adopted by the council on 15 October 2015.
The legislation requires the Statement of Licensing Policy to be reviewed at five year intervals, and part of the process is to consult with Responsible Authorities and any other persons representative of residents in the borough.
Erewash Borough Council is therefore commencing the review process by consulting with interested parties. Your comments would be greatly appreciated by 18 September 2020 and should be sent to the Licensing Department, Town Hall, Long Eaton NG10 1HU, or by e-mail to email@example.com

The Licensing Act 2003 has established a single integrated scheme for licensing premises which are used for the retail or supply of alcohol, to provide regulated entertainment or to provide late night refreshment.
The Statement of Licensing Policy lays out the basis on which decisions will be made. This policy also sets the principles the licensing authority proposes to apply when exercising their functions under the Licensing Act 2003. Furthermore It must reflect the local balance between the commercial interests of the licensed trade and the communities they serve and affect.
This current Statement of Licensing Policy as adopted by the council is subject to review every 5 years under the Licensing Act 2003 as amended by the Police and Social Responsibility Act 2011.
