Erewash residents are reminded that garden waste collections are coming to an end for the winter months.

Residents in the north of the borough – Ilkeston and surrounding areas – will have their last brown bin collections week commencing Monday 30 November. In the south – Long Eaton and surrounding areas – the last collections will be week commencing Monday 7 December.

Residents will once again be able to use brown bins to put out their recyclable waste until garden waste rounds resume in the spring.

Councillor Garry Hickton, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Environment, says:

“It’s been a particularly busy year for our brown bin service with people spending most of the year at home and using the time to tend to their gardens while enjoying being outside and active.

“It’s the last couple of weeks for the season now, so we would urge residents to make the most of one last garden tidy up in a year that has been like no other.
