May 2021 Election information

Erewash voters will go to the polls on Thursday 6 May to vote in the elections for Derbyshire County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire.

The government has confirmed that the elections will go ahead with safety measures in place.

The easiest and safest way for people to cast their vote is to have a postal vote, with new applications needing to be made by the deadline of 5pm on Tuesday 20 April.

Erewash Borough Council recently sent letters to all households to confirm that the information it has on the Register of Electors is correct. The letter also contained a postal vote application form.

Postal and proxy applications must be made via email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 0115 907 1190. If you are already a postal voter then you do not need to reapply.

Polling Stations will be open as usual and will be safe places to vote. Voters will need to wear face masks and must take their own pen or pencil and can expect many other safety measures to be in place – including hand sanitisers and floor markings. There will also be parish council elections in some areas.

Only people registered will be sent a poll card to allow them to vote, you can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote (opens in a new window) by Monday 19 April.
