2022 Event Dates
June 2. Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events with Beacon Lighting
Thursday, 2 June. Long Eaton (grounds of the town hall) – 8.30pm: Long Eaton Silver Prize Band will play patriotic tunes until 9.25pm accompanied by the United Reformed Church Choir. Hand held flags to be distributed. 9.30pm: Welcome and thanks by the Mayor, Councillor John Sewell. 9.41pm: Mr to play ’Diu Regnare’ a unique tune specially written to the occasion by Piper Major, Stuart Liddell. 9.43pm: Bugler from Long Eaton Silver Prize Band. 9.45pm: Song for the Commonwealth to be played by Band and sung by the Choir. 9.50pm: National Anthem to be played.
Ilkeston Market Place: 8.30pm: Johnny Victory to sing songs from the 50’s (Queen ascended to the Throne) and patriotic tunes until 9.25pm. Hand held flags to be distributed. 9.30pm: Welcome and thanks by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Chris Corbett. 9.41pm: Mr Anders Hobson to play ’Diu Regnare’ a unique tune specially written to the occasion by Piper Major, Stuart Liddell. 9.43pm Bugler(s) from Ilkeston Brass will officially announce the lighting of the Beacon with a specially written bugle call entitled ‘Majesty’. 9.45pm: The Deputy Mayor will light the Beacon to coincide with the playing of the ‘Song for the Commonwealth’ which has been written and composed by Lucy Keily from Australia and Vincent Atueyi Chinemelu from Nigeria. 9.50pm: National Anthem to be played.

Sunday June 5: Ilkeston Brass Band, Victoria Park, Ilkeston De7 5HB. 2pm. (no venue for wet weather so this will be cancelled if it rains)
Sunday June 12: Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, West Park, Long Eaton NG10 3NL. 2pm. (no venue for wet weather so this will be cancelled if it rains)
Sunday June 19: Deep Down Brass, Risley Parish Council De72 3SS. 2pm.
Sunday June 26: Kirkby Colliery Welfare band. Little Eaton Parish Council De21 5EA. 2pm.
Sunday July 3: Rolls Royce Derby, Leisure Green, Off Derby Road, Draycott De72 3NJ. 2pm. (no venue for wet weather so this will be cancelled if it rains)
Saturday July 9: Stapleford Salvation Band, Memorial Hall, Brookside Road, Breadsall DE21 5LF. 2pm.
Sunday July 24: Matlock Band, Vilage Hall Gardens, West Hallam De7 6GS. 2pm.
Sunday July 31: Derwent Valley Wind Band, Victoria Park, Ilkeston DE7 5HB. 6pm. (no venue for wet weather so this will be cancelled if it rains)
Sunday August 7: Dinnington Colliery Band, Duffield Close, The Green, Breaston De72 3DU.
Saturday August 20: Deep Down Brass Band, Erewash Museum, Ilkeston De7 5JA. 2pm.
Draycott Open gardens (external event)
Saturday 25 June and Sunday June 26. Raising funds for Draycott in Bloom. 11am to 5pm each day. £2.50 per adult. Under 16s free. Entrance ticket valid for both days. Available to buy on the day. Postcode DE72 3PS.
Beating Retreat
Tuesday 5th July. Taking place on Tuesday 5 July at Ilkeston Market Place from 6.30pm, there will be music from the Derbyshire Cadet Band, with the Beating Retreat led by the Band of the Royal Engineers.
Organisations attending include the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, the Ilkeston Branch of the Royal British Legion, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, Erewash Branch of Royal Air Forces Association, Cadets units and the Hucknall Flight Test Museum.
