Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy

Download the council's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy for Erewash 2020 to 2023 (docx 111 KB)

You can also download a seven page summary (docx. 82.3kb).

The Strategy was developed on behalf of Erewash Homelessness Partnership, following a review of homelessness in the borough.

It aims to ensure that no-one should be homeless, or fear homelessness, in Erewash. It deals with homelessness in terms of those living insecurely at risk of homelessness; those actually homeless, including those rough sleeping; understanding and preventing homelessness.

The document sets out the information, strategy and plans under three key themes:
• Identify homelessness triggers earlier.
• Enable people to prevent their own homelessness.
• Reduce rough sleeping in Erewash.

Housing Strategy

The Council is in the process of developing and implement a Housing Strategy during 2021/22, that:

  • Reflects current and future housing pressures with regard to the supply of affordable and other housing tenures across the social rented and private sectors.
  • Addresses issues highlighted by a reviewed Private Sector Stock Condition Survey.
