Community Forums

Following the review of the council's community forums in December 2011 it supported forums in the north and south of the borough which met up to three times a year in each area and were known as:

• Ilkeston and North Community Forum

• Long Eaton and South Community Forum

The forums, last held in July 2016, were part of a further wider review of their effectiveness that was recently conducted.  A report containing the findings of the latest review was discussed at EBC Council Executive on 23 February 2017 where a decision was taken to approve a recommendation to change the council's approach to holding community forums from April 2017.

The decision will see the council's approach change from holding three community forums per area per year and instead hold forums on an as required basis. This will depend on either the need/requirement of the community to respond to a localised topic of wider community interest or on the requirement of the council to provide information on key issues of community concern.

The ‘Ilkeston and North’ Community Forum covers the following areas: Abbotsford, Breadsall, Cotmanhay, Dale Abbey, Hallam Fields, Ilkeston Central, Ilkeston North, Kirk Hallam, Larklands, Little Eaton Little Hallam, Morley, Old Park, Shipley View, Stanley, Stanley Common, Stanton-by-Dale, West Hallam.

The ‘Long Eaton and South’ Community Forum covers the following areas: Borrowash, Breaston, Derby Road East, Long Eaton, Derby Road West, Long Eaton, Draycott, Long Eaton Central,Nottingham Road, Long Eaton Ockbrook Petersham, Long Eaton, Risley, Sandiacre, Sawley.
