Eligible households include primary residences where the severe weather event lead to one of the following situations:

Floodwater entered habitable areas of the residence.

Floodwater didn’t enter habitable areas but rendered the residence uninhabitable temporarily.

More information on the Property Flood Resilience Repair Grant Scheme can be found on the Derbyshire County Council website.

Recommended actions after a flood

Contact your insurance provider promptly. Most insurers offer 24-hour emergency helplines to provide guidance and facilitate speedy repairs.

If necessary, coordinate temporary emergency repairs to prevent further damage, but consult your insurer beforehand.

If you must arrange emergency repairs independently, notify your insurer and retain all receipts, as they are essential for your claim.

Avoid hasty disposal of damaged items unless they pose a health hazard. Your insurer will offer guidance on potential repairs or restoration.

If your home becomes uninhabitable during repairs, your insurer will arrange and cover the expenses for any alternative temporary accommodation required.
