The council’s building control inspectors attended Barlborough Road in Cotmanhay on Wednesday 7 May.
They quickly identified a structural issue and organised for building work to be carried out immediately at the property and three adjoining properties to ensure they were made safe.
Councillor Curtis Howard, Lead Member for Planning and Regeneration at the council, said:
“The council and EMH Homes worked together to ensure that residents could stay in their properties or were offered alternative accommodation as further investigations continued. Thankfully nobody was injured because of the collapse.
“We would like to reassure residents that the council continues to work with EMH Homes to monitor the situation.”
