This scheme is operated by Erewash Borough Council and is funded from the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund. 

The aim of the Shop Front Improvement Grant Scheme is to support businesses in town centre retail and leisure units to help create attractive and welcoming environments to increase the vibrancy of our high streets. 

The Grant is open to applicants who are owners of or businesses occupying ground floor units in the town centres of Ilkeston and Long Eaton. Applicants should check their property is within the areas marked on the maps at the bottom of this page

Existing businesses are required to provide Match-funding of 20%.

Eligible applicants can apply for a grant of: 

  • £1,000 - £10,000 towards the costs of external shop front enhancements and improvements. These may include but are not limited to: repainting, cleaning of brickwork, repairs to brickwork/plastering, new guttering, new windows, access improvements, removal of graffiti or vegetation.

 

This application will take approximately 40 minutes to complete. It would be useful to have the following documents to hand, as there will be an opportunity to upload them during your application:

  • An image or the current shopfront.
  • A render of how your shopfront will look after your proposed works.
  • Two separate quotations for your proposed works.
