Dog Bins

How to request a dog waste bin

dog waste binThe Council has over 200 bins in the Borough and more are added each year. Parish Councils also provide and empty dog waste bins.

Each year our Neighbourhood Wardens assess all the dog waste bin requests. The wardens have a scoring system which they use to select the areas of greatest need. The land owners are consulted and the bins are installed.

If you wish for an area to be considered for a dog waste bin then please use the form in your "My Erewash" account to request one.  To register for a "My Erewash" account see the "My account" area at the the top of this page.

Whilst dog waste bins are useful, the provision of a bin alone is not the only answer. The responsibility for cleaning up after a dog has fouled still rests with the person in control of the dog. Remember that fouling complaints are still received in areas where bins have been installed.

If you are a dog owner and you do not have a bin near by - place your used bag in another plastic bag, seal and dispose of it in your wheelie bin at home.
