Upcoming Road Closures

  • Milton Street, Long Eaton: 23-27 May 2022. Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Milton Street, Long Eaton to facilitate gas main connection. The suggested alternative route is Milton Street, Cobden Street, Lower Brook Street, Tamworth Road and vice-versa. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused whilst work takes place.  Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533 190.   • Temporary Public Footpath Closure - Nos 22 and 23, Ilkeston: 21 March to 30 June 2022. Derbyshire County Council intends to close Public Footpath 22 from its junction with Public Footpath 23 north for 55 metres and Public Footpath 23 for its whole length to allow for construction works. The suggested alternative route from the west is to travel north on Public Footpath 21 then east on a track to Public Footpath 22. And vice-versa from the east. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.

  • Long Eaton Community Carnival Parade. Saturday 18 June 2022 between 11am and 1.30 pm. The Community Carnival Parade passes through the borough on a rolling basis. Once the Parade passes a junction, the roads will be re-opened to all traffic as soon as possible. Wilsthorpe Road (B6002) – from the entrance to West Park event field to its junction with Tamworth Road (Long Eaton Railway Station); Thoresby Road – in its entirety; Tamworth Road (B6540) – from its junction with Wilsthorpe Road (Long Eaton Railway Station) to its junction with the Market Place; Market Place – in its entirety; Derby Road (A6005) – in its entirety; Wilsthorpe Road (B6002) – from its junction with Derby Road (A6005) finishing at its junction with Thoresby Road. To facilitate public safety during the holding of the Long Eaton Community Carnival Parade.

  • Various roads across Erewash and South Derbyshire: 18 April to 9 July 2022. Derbyshire County Council will implement Temporary Road Closures to facilitate carriageway surface dressing and associated works to a number of roads across the borough for a period of no more than five separate days for each individual road listed. Noticeboards informing of the actual dates for surface dressing will be placed on site one week in advance of the works taking place and appropriate diversion routes will be signed accordingly.

    Ilkeston - A6096 Millership Way (Rutland Street roundabout to rail bridge), Ilkeston.

    Breadsall - Moor Road (Rectory Lane to Morley Almshouses), Breadsall and Rectory Lane (Croft Lane to Moor Lane), Breadsall.

    Borrowash - B5010 Broad Lane/Oak Road/Main Road/Borrowash Road/Station Road (B5010 to A6005), Thulston, Elvaston, Borrowash.
