Scheduled Monuments

The "Schedule of Monuments" is compiled by the Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport, under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. Scheduling recognises the national importance of a very few archaeological sites.

Scheduled Monument Consent

The consent of the Secretary of State is required to undertake works affecting a Scheduled Monument. You can make an online application via the Historic England website and more information regarding Scheduled Monuments can also be accessed there. 

Please note that it is a criminal offence to undertake such works without consent.

Registered Parks and Gardens

The "Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England" is compiled by English Heritage, under the National Heritage Act 1983. Locko Park is included on the Register at grade II.
