A new testing centre to help prevent the spread of covid-19 will open in Erewash next week.

With one in three people with COVID-19 not displaying any symptoms this means they could be passing on the virus to anyone they meet without knowing. The new centre will open in Ilkeston from Monday 29 March and will close on Sunday 25 April, opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, no booking required, just turn up at a time convenient to you.

Community testing is not for those who have coronavirus symptoms, if you are experiencing symptoms please book a test in the normal way.

The centre is based at the following location:

  • EMH Group Car Park, Longfield House, Hallam Fields Road, Ilkeston, DE7 4BR.

The government’s community testing programme offers regular testing to those who are at most risk of passing on the virus, which is those who are still going out to work and who spend time with colleagues or the public. The testing will identify people with COVID-19, enable support for those who have to self-isolate, and drive infection rates down further in the county.

There is also a testing centre in Long Eaton at West Park Leisure Centre, Wilsthorpe Road, Long Eaton, NG10 4AA. This is open 7 days per week from 7.45am to 7pm (There will be no community testing available on 30 March 2021 as regular blood donor sessions will be going ahead at the centre)
