Long Eaton residents are being urged to choose the design for an all-new play area planned for Petersham Public Open Space on Briar Gate.

Two design options are on offer, with Erewash Borough Council asking families to pick their favourite through a public consultation that ends at noon on Wednesday 9 February.

The project will see a range of exciting new play equipment installed, as well as seating, safety surfacing and fencing. The play area will be fully accessible and will cater for a wide age range.

The online survey shows the two designs and residents simply have to choose Option1 or Option 2.

Alternatively, residents can request a form showing the designs by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., however the preferred choice still needs to be returned to the council by the 9 February deadline.

Councillor Paul Maginnis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing, says

“Please take time to tell us which design you think is best for what will be a brilliant new play facility for all those families living near the Petersham site. We will go with the design that gets most votes and hope to have it up and running by late summer.”
