Challenge Erewash

The Sport and Health Development team has created 10 summer challenges for young people and families in Erewash.

These 10 challenges vary in difficulty and the Challange Booklet can be accessed electronically or email sportsdevelopment@erewash.gov.uk to arrange collection of paper copy. 

Alongside the booklet there is a corresponding Challenge Card which also can be accesed electronically or arrange for a paper copy as above. This Challenge card will allow participants to track their progress and once completed with Name, Address and Contact Number written on the back, can then be returned by post to Erewash Borough Council, Merlin House, Merlin Way, Ilkeston DE7 4RU. 

Upon return of the completed Challenge Card, particpants will be elligible for a FREE PRIZE based on the number of challenges completed. Prizes will be posted or delivered to address in a COVID-Secure conditions from September 2020.

Virtual Summer Holiday Sessions

Throughout the Summer Holidays of 2020 Sport and Health Development will be publishing 12 activity sessions virtually on our Instagram page in partnership with Parkside High.  

Follow our Instagram page and take part in the sessions in order to be entered into our FREE PRIZE DRAW.

The Active Lives in Erewash Awards will be held on the 6th of February 2020. These awards will be about celebrating how physical activity has changed the lives of people in our communities throughout Erewash. We are looking for nominations for individuals, community groups and organisations.

Our Work

Erewash Borough's Council's Sport and Health Development team provide sport, physical activity and health related services throughout the borough. The work of this team is to utilise the power of sport and physical activity to improve individuals lives by making them healthier and happier members of society.

Services include partnership working on community and youth development such as Active Lives in Kirk Hallam, Active4Life - Petersham and Safer Together Through Sport.

The delivery of the Commissioned Services which include Health Referral, Walking for Health and Erewash Can.

The team also run their popular cycling programmes such as Cycle for Health and Balanceability.

It also provides various activities to hire such as the inflatable obstacle course, adult and child smoothie bike among others.

The team work with multiple partners to identify and secure funding to bring into the borough such as Street Games, Active Derbyshire and Public Health.
