Upcoming Road Closures 

  • Derbyshire County Council intends to implement a Temporary One Way Order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from travelling in a northbound direction on Milner Road, Long Eaton from its junction with Alexandra Road to its junction with Lawrence Street to facilitate electrical substation cable installations. This will be between 28 September to 11 December.

  • Temporary Footpath Closure No 7 Draycott. From 19 October-5 March Derbyshire County Council intends to close the footpath from its junction with public footpath number 6 to the junction of public footpath number 9 with Wilne Road to allow for consutruction works. No alternative route is recommended. Download the map and full order as a PDF. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
  • Temporary Footpath Closure, No 15, Sawley: 5 October to 10 November. Derbyshire County Council intends to close the footpath from Tamworth Road to its junction with the railway line to carry out repair works on the embankment to reduce the risk of flooding.     Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished.   • Wilne Road, Draycott. Wednesday 17 July to Friday 6 November 2020. Wilne Road, Draycott between points 325m and 575m south of its junction with Derwent Street (adjacent to STW inlet station). To facilitate renewal of water treatment apparatus. Alternative route is Market Street - A6005 Victoria Road - Sawley Road and vice versa.

  • Sawley Road, Breaston. Thursday 5 November, 11:30pm to 6am Friday 6 November. Level crossing works will take place on Sawly Road between points 650m and 700m south of its junction with Meadow Close. The alternative route will be A6005 Wilsthorpe Road/Derby Road - B6002 Wilsthorpe Road - B6540 Tamworth Road - Draycott Road and vice versa.  More information can be found on the one.network website.

  • Thorneywood Road, Long Eaton, Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 November 2020. This would be at a point 75m west of its junction with Stafford Street (outside No. 68), to facilitate new water connection. The alternative route is Stafford Street - Station Road and vice versa.  Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.

  • Public Footpath 14, Draycott & Church Wilne Parish. Sunday 1 November to Saturday 21 November 2020. This will be for 230 metres around Derby Road to allow for work to reinstate the canal and towpath. No alternative route is recommended.

  • Temporary Road Closure: Ilkeston Town Centre (Remembrance Day Service). On Sunday 8 November 2020 between 10.15 am and 11.30am, Erewash Borough Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to the following area to hold the Long Eaton Remembrance Day Service.
  • Wharncliffe Road: From its junction with the Market Place to its junction with Albert Street.
  • Market Place: In its entirety.
  • South Street: From its junction with the Market Place to its junction with Coronation Street.
  • Market Street: from its junction with the Market Place to the boundary between 1 and 2 Market Street.
    The borough council has made this Order under under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847.

  • Temporary Road Closure: Market Place, Long Eaton (Remembrance Day Service). On Sunday 8 November 2020 between 10.30 am and 11.30 am, Erewash Borough Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure on the Market Place from its junction with Regent Street, and Tamworth Road from its junction with the Market Place to its junction with Beconsfield Street. This is to hold the Long Eaton Remembrance Day Service. The borough council has made this Order under under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847. View a map of the diversion route.
  • Hey Street, Long Eaton. Monday 16 to Friday 27 November 2020 between 08am and 6pm daily. This is for footway resurfacing works. The alternative route is Turner Road - Mikado Road - B6540 Tamworth Road and vice versa
    Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished.   • Station Street, Long Eaton, Sunday 29 November 22:30pm to Monday 30 November 6am. This will be between points 75m and 100m east of its junction with Main Street (at the level crossing) while level crossing tests are carried out.
