Erewash Borough Council's Pride in Erewash initiative is a fantastic campaign with the community at its heart. It aims to create a cleaner, greener and safer borough for our current residents and future generations. Now into its twelfth year, the campaign is going from strength to strength with hundreds of residents, partners and volunteers taking part in environmental and community events throughout the year.
The campaign is the driving force behind projects such as the "Adopt a Park' scheme, community clean-ups, graffiti removal, Erewash in Bloom, School Recycling and the successful 24-hour confidential ‘Pride Line’ which enable residents to report fly-tipping and other environmental crime.
Many successful projects have already been delivered as part of the Campaign, the aim of which is to develop a sense of respect and ownership of our environment and improve the quality of life for all in the Borough.
These Projects include:
Erewash in Bloom
Adopt a Park
Festival of Light
Good Town Trader Awards
Tree Warden Scheme
Community Clean Ups
Promoting Tidy Business Standards (Food on the Go)
Environmental Education Projects
Street Scene Improvements
The Pride in Erewash Campaign works in partnership with Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs). Communities and Local Government believes more gets done if people in an area work together. They could be community and faith groups, the council, police and fire & rescue services, charity groups, businesses, schools, health bodies and more. Pooling experience and expertise, they can understand local people, places and problems. And make sure the right actions are taken and right services delivered.
