Brownfield Land Register

The Borough Council is required to create and maintain a Brownfield Land Register. The Erewash Register identifies a number of eligible brownfield sites from around the Borough that the Council have recognised as being suitable to accommodate residential development.

To conform to requirements over what information is contained for each site entry, the Council has created a comprehensive Register providing interested stakeholders an insight into the key characteristics for each site. The Council has recently updated the Register, in line with the Regulations.

The Borough Council’s Brownfield Land Register, is a standardised data table, produced to comply with Government requirements over the type and format of information called for by Regulations.

Brownfield land register removed sites 2017 (PDF  208.97 KB)

The data standard for the 2019 Brownfield Land Register was updated by MHCLG in 2019. Consequently, the 2019 BLR follows a different layout to previous registers published by the Council. The 2019 data standard requires all BLR sites to remain on the BLR even if no longer available. A site may no longer be available due to circumstances including development being complete and the site no longer having a valid planning permission, therefore demonstrates no willingness on the owner’s behalf to develop the site for residential use. The 2019 version has retained all sites that would have previously been removed from the 2018 Register.

The table in this PDF document provides information on sites which were removed from the 2017 BLR when updating the 2018 Register. This enables conformity to the updated data standard and provides a full record for a site’s removal from 2017, when BLRs became a mandatory requirement. Erewash’s 2017 and 2018 BLR remain the same as they were accurate at the time of publishing and conformed to the data standards published at that time.
