Erewash residents and businesses whose properties were flooded by Storm Ciara or Storm Dennis can apply for grants to help them recover.

The government has provided funding through five schemes, which will include support to help make properties more resilient to flooding in the future.

Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, is urging any victims of the two storms to apply for a grant:

“I am pleased that grants are now available to help residents and businesses bounce back from any flood damage they have suffered. Seeing your home or business being flooded is very distressing, so we hope that anyone affected will apply for help for repairs or support to make their properties more resilient.”

In all cases, certain conditions have to be met to be eligible for a grant and funding is only available for damage caused by Storm Ciara or Storm Dennis. Full details and how to apply are available on the websites listed below.

Erewash Borough Council is responsible for three of the schemes:

• Community Recovery Grant – £500 to help households with immediate recovery.
• Council Tax Discount Scheme – a 100% discount for a minimum of three months, or while anyone is unable to return home if longer.
• Business Rates Flood Relief Scheme – a 100% discount for a minimum of three months or until the business can resume trading from the property if longer.

Any resident or business owner wanting to apply for any of these grants can do so online through the below forms:
