Erewash Borough Council’s annual Free Tree event is back for 2019, giving Erewash residents the chance to pick up free bush apple trees and pear trees for their gardens.

The hugely popular town centre giveaway is organised by the council’s Pride in Erewash campaign and sees stalls set up in both Ilkeston and Long Eaton – with residents of the borough able to claim one free tree per household.

This year’s giveaway dates are:

🍎Long Eaton – High Street on Wednesday 4 December, from 10am

🍐Ilkeston – Market Place on Thursday 5 December, from 10am

150 bush apple and pear trees will be available at each of the Free Tree Giveaway locations and they will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis to Erewash residents only.

The council’s Volunteer Tree Wardens will be at both town centre events to help with information and to promote trees.
