Ilkeston Household Waste Recycling Centre, Manners Avenue, Manners Industrial Estate, Ilkeston, DE7 8EF.
Household waste recycling centres will reopen to the public on 18 May 2020. The safety of site staff, residents and the wider community is Derbyshire County Council's number one priority and new measures are being introduced at all of its sites sites so that users and staff can stick to social distancing rules to help prevent the spread of coronavirus and to help us manage traffic.
Please avoid our recycling centres unless your journey is essential because you can’t continue to store waste safely at home without it causing injury or harm. No other reason for the journey would be considered a legitimate purpose. More information can be found on the Derbyshire County Council website.
Please continue to use kerbside waste and recycling services as normal. Hang on to any items you would normally take to the tip for a few more weeks wherever possible and if there’s still some life left in them, why not try selling online? Or compost garden waste at home?
Before you dispose of any items
Consider re-using items around the home.
- Bottles, boxes and jars can be used for storage
- Shopping bags can be used more than once
- Unwanted furniture
- Perhaps a charity shop could use your unwanted items.
If you really can't reuse your items then you can:
Use our kerb side recycling systems:
Or take your materials to one of the following recycling sites: Stanton Road car park, Ilkeston; The Village car park, West Hallam; Village Hall car park, Little Eaton; Asda car park, Long Eaton; Beaconsfield Street, Long Eaton; Lawrence Street car park, Long Eaton; West Park leisure centre car park, Long Eaton; Co-op car park, Sawley; Memorial Hall, Breadsall.
Additional green bags are available from either Ilkeston or Long Eaton Town Halls, or a Shopmobility on a Saturday morning.
