Manufacturing Recovery Grant

A new grant fund has been launched by Erewash Borough Council to support manufacturing and engineering business across Erewash.  The Erewash Manufacturing Recovery Grant, developed in conjunction with Erewash Partnership Ltd, is part of the Council’s package of support for businesses dealing with the impact of COVID-19. It is designed to enable a sustainable recovery by funding projects that have potential to safeguard and create new jobs, and build a more resilient economy.

The grant is for manufacturing and engineering businesses able to demonstrate negative impacts across the business from COVID19, and are able to present an investment project that will help address the challenges and build a stronger business for the future.

Do you have a project which will sustain/grow your business, resulting in jobs being safeguarded/created within 4 months from the start of your project?  

Grants of up to £15,000* are available to eligible Erewash manufacturing businesses that:

  • Can evidence the negative impact of Covid-19 across the business;
  • Have a project to help address the challenges brought by the pandemic such as diversification, improved productivity; OR
  • Have a project necessary to capitalize on opportunities created by covid

Funding is limited; applications that demonstrate one or more of the following will be prioritised:

  • will create new jobs
  • will safeguard existing jobs
  • will increase the scope and scale of the business activity
  • will improve performance
  • has not yet started and will not be achievable in the timescales proposed without support

* Grant amounts may be varied subject to demand and the quality of applications / job creation and growth potential.

In order to be considered, you must meet certain requirements:

  • Independent manufacturing business operating from premises in the Borough of Erewash
  • Not more than 25% owned by a company, which itself is not an SME
  • Trading on 1st January 2020 and continuing to trade
  • Have less than 99 employees
  • Annual turnover not exceeding £25 million
  • Be able to demonstrate a significant negative impact upon the business since the beginning of the pandemic in the UK
  • Not in liquidation/dissolved/struck off
  • Must not have received funding in excess of the current subsidy control limits

If successful:

Provide on request/retain valid quotations for all goods or services procured through the grant

Provide on request/retain bank statements and valid invoices, to be able to demonstrate the expenditure
