Free Online Information Session on June 29

A free online information session for landlords will be held following the publishing of the Government's White Paper A fairer private rented sector.

This document sets out an action plan of how they plan to deliver a fairer, more secure, higher quality private rented sector.

The plan includes:

  • Requiring privately rented homes to meet the Decent Homes Standard
  • Abolishing Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions.
  • Reforming grounds for possession to make sure that landlords have effective means to gain possession of their properties when necessary.
  • Ending the use of rent review clauses, & improving tenants’ ability to challenge excessive rent increases through the First-tier Tribunal.
  • Introducing a new single Ombudsman that all private landlords must join.
  • Introducing a new Property Portal for private rented properties.
  • legislating to make it illegal for landlords or agents to have blanket bans on renting to families with children or those in receipt of benefits and exploring if action is needed for other vulnerable groups, such as prison leavers.
  • Giving tenants the right to request a pet in their property
DASH Services is inviting representatives from the National Residential Landlords Association to come along and discuss the latest situation with its landlords on Wednesday 29th June 10.30am – 11.30am for a live online information session where DASH and the NRLA will discuss this action plan (in as much detailed as is actually known).
