Temporary Road Closures August 2017

Here is the list of temporary closures across Ilkeston and Long Eaton throughout August 2017. The list will be updated throughout the month.


Emergency Temporary Road Closure: Town Street, Sandiacre - 27th July - 3rd August

WHEN: Thursday 27 July to Thursday 3 August 2017.

WHERE: Town Street, Sandiacre between Mill Lane and Mornington Close.

REASON: To facilitate emergency sewer works.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Town Street - Derby Road - Rushy Lane - Stanton Road - Church Street and vice versa.


Temporary Road Closure: Ilkeston Heritage & Classic Verhicle Show - Sunday 13 August 2017

WHEN: Sunday 13 August 2017 between 5.30 am and 6.30 pm

REASON: to hold the Ilkeston Heritage and Classic Vehicle Show


Market Place - in its entirety

Wharncliffe Road - from its junction with Albert Street to its junction with the Market Place

South Street - in its junction with the Market Place to its junction with Coronation Street

Pimlico - from its junction with Burns Street to its junction with New Lawn Road.


Temporary Road Closure: Coronation Road, Ilkeston - Monday 21 August to Friday 25 August 2017

WHEN: Monday 21 August to Friday 25 August 2017.

WHERE: Coronation Road, Ilkeston.

REASON: To facilitate the installation of restraint barriers on railway bridge.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Station Road – A6007 Chalons Way – Rutland Street – A6096 Millership Way and vice-versa.


Temporary 30 MPH Speed Limit Restriction: A6096 Dale Road, Ockbrook - Thursday 24 August to Thursday 12 October 2017

WHEN: Thursday 24 August 2017 to Thursday 12 October 2017

WHERE: It will be necessary to prohibit traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of 30 MPH, from 30 metres south of its junction with Moor Lane to 50 metres north of the entrance to Bartlewood Lodge.

REASON: to facilitate gas mains renewal works.
