The National Bus Pass, known in Derbyshire as Gold Card is available to older people and people with certain disabilities, and enables eligible people to travel free, off-peak, on local buses anywhere in England.
The scheme was introduced in April 2008. On 1 April 2011 Derbyshire County Council became responsible for keeping Gold Card records. Existing Gold Card holders’ details including name, address and date of birth were transferred from Erewash Borough Council to Derbyshire County Council at this time.
