Missed Bins or Bags

Report a Missed Bin/Bag

The Councils refuse crews carry out collections daily until 3pm and therefore may not have missed your bin today.

But if your bin was due to be collected today and it is after 3pm, then it may have been missed due to one of the following reasons:

  • Wrong bin put out - please check that you have put the correct bin out for collection.

  • Bin not put out in time - to avoid being missed please put out the day/evening before collection is due.

  • Over heavy - the bin is too heavy for the Refuse Vehicle to lift for Health & Safety reasons.

  • Unusual items in bin - certain items cannot be collected, for example soil, concrete, large household items wedged in.

  • Blue bin / Green bag is contaminated - only certain recyclable items can be collected, for example plastic bags & polystyrene are not collected in the green bags/blue bins, only a mixture of card, paper, plastics bearing the numbers 1, 2 or 3, glass jars and bottles, tins/drinks cans and empty aerosols may be placed in your recycling bags/bin.

If your bin has been missed for one of the above reasons then please rectify the bin's state.

The missed bin must be reported within 48 hours of the scheduled collection day, otherwise we will not return to collect it. Please call our contact centre on 0845 907 2244 to report a missed bin/bag.

All of our fleet are constantly tracked using Masternaut live tracking systems and if any problems are found with road access or a particular property, they have the ability to enter this live on to the system.
