Guidance is available during normal office hours from the Planning Department at Long Eaton Town Hall.

The Development Support section can be contacted by telephone during the hours of 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays.

Planning Surgery

 

A Planning Surgery is held every Thursday morning at Ilkeston Town Hall where you can see a planning Officer for advice.

Please note that the Surgery operates by appointment only - appointments last 30 minutes and run from 9am to 12.00pm.

Planning Aid is a charity that offers free, independent and professional advice on planning issues to community groups and individuals who cannot afford to pay a planning consultant.

High Hedges

 

If you would like further information regarding the new High Hedges legislation the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) website has plenty of useful information.

If, after reading the information on the DCLG website, you would like help on how to apply please contact Development Support on 0115 907 2240.

Please note that the fee for making an official complaint to Erewash Borough Council about a High Hedge is currently £320.

Advice leaflets

 

The Guide for Householders offers advice to members of the public considering extending or improving their home and also those concerned about a neighbours development. 

Information on the installation of satellite dishes and antenna is available.

Guidance on the display of Outdoor Advertisements and Signs is available offering applicants details of what rules exist regarding the erection of advertisements.

The DCLG Guide to Planning for Business gives advice regarding planning matters relating to business and commercial properties.
