Charges for Building Regulations

Charges for Advice

General advice and information is offered free of charge.

We also charge for specific advice prior to making an application. This charge is waived when an application is formally deposited with the Authority.

We will advise you of the cost of our service prior to making an application if you need us to.

What charges are payable?

The charge payable is related to the type of work, and is headed in four separate tables:
- Table A - New Housing
- Table B - Domestic extensions and certain small buildings
- Table C - Domestic alterations to a single building
- Table D - All non-domestic work

Please note: in the unlikely event of an application being withdrawn after registration but before the Building Control Officer has commenced his work all charges will be refunded with the exception of a non-returnable deposit of £60 including VAT 

Exemption from charges

Building work carried out solely for the benefit of disabled persons in dwellings or to buildings to which the public are admitted (whether on payment or otherwise) are in certain circumstances exempt from these charges. Please contact us if you feel that this applies to you.
