Makeover Means Some Changes
Erewash residents who have benefits enquiries will have to make an appointment to see an advisor from 15th September when the refurbishment programme gets underway at Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Hall receptions.
The makeover to improve Erewash Borough Council’s customer contact centres will see Ilkeston Town Hall reception given a new and more modern look - while Long Eaton’s reception will be refurbished in January.
As part of the work, the drop-in facility for anyone wanting advice on benefits will no longer be possible at Ilkeston and Long Eaton and residents must make an appointment. Appointments can be made easily by telephoning 0845 907 2244 or by calling in to either of the town hall receptions.
Residents are also urged to note that the Council’s Housing Options and Homelessness team will still be easily contactable during the improvement work.
The team will move to the Three Valleys Housing Offices in Long Eaton while work is carried out – but it will be service as usual for all those who need advice.
Residents can contact the team at the usual Ilkeston address as mail will be forwarded to them or can still telephone 0845 907 2244 ext 3590 and/or email them on homelessness@erewash.gov.uk.
In addition, two outreach sessions will be provided on Mondays and Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm at Ilkeston’s Citizens Advice Bureau offices on South Street. The team can also be seen during its session at Three Valleys Housing on Bramley Road, Long Eaton on Wednesdays between 9.30am and 12noon.
Alternative arrangements can be made where appropriate and residents can telephone to discuss. Anyone homeless after 5pm or on a weekend should, as always, telephone the emergency duty team on 01773 728222.
