Long Eaton Natural History Society LENS gives a warm welcome to all people who are interested in their natural surroundings. We speak for and act on behalf of wildlife to promote conservation and biodiversity and prevent detrimental development. We maintain records of flora and fauna and promote knowledge of natural history.
The group works both independently and with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire to achieve our objectives.
Activities
In the Winter a varied programme of talks is offered on subjects of natural history interest. Meetings are held once a fortnight, on Mondays, starting at 7.15pm in the Social Activities Annex of Long Eaton Public Library, Broad Street (off Tamworth Road), Long Eaton.
In the Summer outings are arranged to local places of interest.
The LENS bulletin is published twice a year.
The Natural History of Long Eaton is a publication which we produce.
