Leisure Card

Great discounts on activities for everyone.

What is a leisure card?

The leisure card entitles you to big savings on activities at our four leisure centres; discounts on selected events; and other great benefits.

Anyone can apply for a leisure card, no matter where you live. The card is valid for one year.

What are the benefits?

  • Discounts -  reduced fees on selected activities.

  • Advance booking - facilities and activities can be booked over the phone seven days ahead with no need to pay in advance.

  • Online booking - our new online booking service will be coming soon – keep a look out at the Culture and Leisure homepage.

  • Free equipment hire - at the leisure centres (subject to availability and terms and conditions).

  • Newsletter - receive a quarterly newsletter either by post or email.

  • Special offers - further discounts on activities and events especially for card holders throughout the year.

Where can I use my card?

You can use your card at any of our four leisure centres, Rutland Sports Park and Victoria Park Leisure Centre in Ilkeston; Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre in Sandiacre; and West Park Leisure Centre in Long Eaton.

Do I qualify for a concessionary leisure card?

If you fall into one of the following categories you can claim a free leisure card (£7.50 to non-Erewash residents) and even more discounts and benefits:

  • Erewash borough foster carers and their fostered and own children

  • Looked after children

  • Care leavers aged 17-24

  • Young people living in supported accommodation

  • Homeless people

  • People with disabilities – all ages

  • Carers/buddies attending with a disabled person

  • People in receipt of: Job Seeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Pensions Credit, Care Allowance, Disability Living Allowance or Incapacity Benefit

  • Unemployed school leavers from 16-18 years

  • Unemployed asylum seekers

  • European volunteers

  • Active service members

If you have an old facility for leisure card you can claim a free leisure card, which will be valid until 31 March 2010. After this time you will need to reapply under the new categories.

All health and leisure members can claim a free leisure card - a letter will be sent to you in March with an application form which will tell you how to get your free leisure card.

How do I apply for a leisure card?

Just follow these three simple steps:

Step one: proof of identity

You will need to:

  • Fill in an application form (download it here or fill one out at any leisure centre)

  • Bring along some proof of identity - at least one of the following: your passport, driving licence, birth certificate, council tax bill or recent utility bill. Original documents only – photocopies are not acceptable.

Step two: proof of residency

You don’t need to live in Erewash to apply for a card.

If you do live in Erewash:

  • Bring some proof of residency as well: driving licence, council tax bill or recent utility bill. Original documents only – photocopies are not acceptable.

Step three: proof of concessionary entitlement

If you qualify for a concessionary leisure card:

  • Please bring along your proof of entitlement as well - see below for details

  • then just bring it along to any Erewash leisure centre – easy!

What does it cost?

Annual charges are as follows:

Erewash residents

  • Adult £10

  • Junior (16 years and under) £5

  • Concessionary free

  • Adults/Juniors enrolled on

    either

    enrolled on a course of swimming lessons or a course (For example, a 10 week trampolining course at SFSC) free                      

Non-Erewash residents

  • Adult £15

  • Junior (16 years and under) £7.50

  • Concessionary £7.50

  • Adults/Juniors enrolled on

Terms and conditions

1. Your leisure card must be presented at reception on every visit.
2. The leisure card is at all times the property of Erewash Borough Council and must be surrendered to the council on demand.
3. The leisure card is renewable annually and all eligibility criteria must be revalidated at the time it is renewed.
4. The leisure card is not transferable and must only be used by the person for whom it was issued.
5. All changes to personal details must be disclosed to Erewash Borough Council immediately and before using the leisure card again.
6. Loss of the leisure card should be reported to Erewash Borough Council.
7. Erewash Borough Council reserves the right to refuse to issue, renew or withdraw a leisure card.
8. A replacement fee of £5 will be charged for lost cards.
9. Facilities and activities may be restricted or withdrawn at any time. Whenever possible 2 weeks advance notice will be given and alternative activities at other leisure centres may be available.
10. Erewash Borough Council reserves the right to alter the programme of events; and activities at the leisure centres.
11. Erewash Borough Council reserves the right to refuse entry and to remove person from the premises at any time.
