Erewash – at the centre of the East Midlands
Erewash Borough Council and their partners are committed to the Economic growth and regeneration of the Borough and are currently involved in some very exciting projects.
As a local Economic Development Agency, the Erewash Partnership Ltd has been providing support services to businesses in the Erewash area for over 15 years.
Established in 1994, the Erewash Partnership is a unique public/private sector social enterprise. Its purpose is to develop the local economy by delivering economic development projects as well as providing support for potential and existing businesses. The Partnership also helps local people to access training and allows schools to access the business community.

The Long Eaton Conservation Areas Townscape Heritage Initiative is an innovative project which seeks to revitalize Long Eaton’s historic town centre through the repair and reinstatement of the town’s heritage.
The Townscape Heritage Initiative will promote and encourage investment in under-used and neglected historic buildings. Benefits to the Borough include helping to retain and reinforce the local identity while increasing investor confidence in Long Eaton’s economy.
The Townscape Heritage Initiative comprises of four funding avenues; the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Derbyshire Economic Partnership, Erewash Borough Council and contributions from building owners.

Erewash has two historic markets in the heart of Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Centres. There are a wide variety of stalls at each town’s market, with plenty to browse. With many foods including cheese, meat and preserves, fashion wear, greetings cards, books, haberdashery, and hundreds of products on sale. The market place is also a regular venue for events, activities and attractions all year round.

Town Centre Masterplans have been created for Ilkeston and Long Eaton to provide a blueprint for future development. The Masterplans represent an opportunity to develop a comprehensive regeneration and development strategy for the town centres which guides the Council’s Economic Development work and attracts new investment into the towns.
