Long Eaton improvements

This scheme consists of the implementation of works to improve links into Long Eaton town centre from Waverley Street.

The scheme has been partnership funded through section 106 money secured from Tesco which was match funded by Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership. The scheme has involved substantial resurfacing in high quality materials, tree planting and the design and implementation of a new amenity area adjacent to the grade II* listed St Laurences church.

Long Eaton Townscape Heritage Initiative

In April 2008 we submitted a stage two bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a Townscape Heritage Initiative Scheme for Long Eaton.

We have also bid for match funding from Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership and has allocated match funds from our budget for the implementation of the project.

If the submitted bids are successful the scheme is due to run from 2008 to 2011. The land and Property team have prepared draft proposals for the implementation of public realm works to both Long Eaton Market Place and Lime Grove. It is the intention that if the submitted bids are approved the team will produce final designs for both areas and project manage implementation of both schemes.

Further details of the Townscape heritage Initiative and the public realm proposals can be accessed on the Long Eaton Townscape Heritage Initiative web page.
