Polling Place and Polling District Review 2011

To try and improve voting facilities for our electors and, as far as possible, to make polling places accessible, the Council is carrying out its second full review of polling districts and places. Our previous review was carried out in 2007. The Electoral Administration Act 2006 requires us to carry out a review every four years. The review has been carried out in accordance with guidance issued by the Electoral Commission.

The initial deadline for receipt of public comments on the review has now passed and the Returning Officer’s comments on the findings and proposals can now been seen below.

The consultation period for the review of polling districts and places has now ended.

The final recommendations were considered at full Council on Thursday 8 December 2011. The report and associated minutes can be seen below.

The agreed changes will be implemented before the next elections take place in the Erewash Borough

If you have any comments regarding the proposals please send them to:

If you prefer you can email your representations to electreg@erewash.gov.uk.

The final recommendations will become effective in 2012.
