European and county elections 2009
European Parliamentary and county council elections took place on 4 June 2009.
Elections were held on 4 June 2009 to elect five members of the European Parliament to represent the East Midlands Region for the next five years.
On the same day there were elections to elect nine councillors to represent Erewash residents on Derbyshire County Council over the next four years.
Verification and counting of the votes took place on Friday 5 June with the county council results being declared on this date.
Counting of the European Parliamentary votes took place on Sunday 7 June with the result being declared after 9pm.
