We are committed to ensuring that everyone has equal access to the services and information we provide.

Disabled Access

When making major improvements to our buildings and open spaces we use up to date research and involve disabled people to ensure the highest level of access possible.

Our Town Halls have had major work done to improve access for disabled people by remodelling our reception areas to include lower level counters and disabled toilets.

All of our Leisure Centres (apart from Victoria Park which is scheduled for major improvement works in 2009/2010) have similar improved access and trained staff to assist with access issues.

We will:

Provide information in accessible formats in large print, computer disc or audio tape on request.

Provide interpretation through the Language Line service on request.
Provide you with a Sign Language interpreter if required.
Provide documents in Braille on request.
Offer a minicom text-phone service to assist in contacting the us by telephone. Our minicom number is 0115 9316056.
Make every reasonable adjustment to support other means to enable customers to access our services.
