Hygiene Rating Scheme (Scores on the Doors)
Erewash Borough Council have introduced a Hygiene Rating scheme for restaurants, takeaways, hotels, bed-and-breakfast, schools, cafes, staff canteens, care homes and some retailers.
The scheme aims to improve food safety and hygiene standards in these businesses by:
- Providing customers with information on the inspections we conduct allowing them to make informed choices about where they eat
- Encourage businesses to improve their standards of food hygiene and aim for the highest 5 star rating

***** - Excellent
**** - Very Good
*** - Satisfactory
** - Fair
* - Poor
None - Very poor - Major improvement required.
