Rubbish, Waste and Recycling - Homepage

Download the 2008 collection calendar.

The calendar shows when it is refuse or recycling collection in your area.

Why Recycle

Find out why you should recycle and in what ways you can help the environment.

Waste Reduction

There are many ways to reduce the amount of resources you consume and therefore the amount of waste you produce. Simply re-using your carrier bags when you go shopping helps protect the environment.  Recycling completes the cycle of goods by allowing them to be used again and again.

Where to recycle

Before you recycle have you considered reusing those materials at home? Bottles, boxes and jars can be used for storage. Shopping bags can be used more than once! Perhaps a charity shop could use your old clothes, books etc.

If you really can't reuse your items then you can use other options.

Rubbish and waste disposal (A-Z)

If you really can't recycle anymore, we show you how to dispose of your waste safely and responsibly.
