Erewash is a vibrant and diverse borough with an abundance of leisure opportunities for residents and visitors alike. We are proud of our sporting and leisure facilities and offer 5 quality leisure centres, Erewash museum, Pewit Golf Course, 260 hectares of urban parks and open spaces, and over 1000 allotments.
The Borough of Erewash is predominately rural in character, and it's the Borough's rural character which epitomises many of the best features of the traditional English landscape. This enables Erewash to offer some of the best lowland walking routes in the region.

They've done it again! - Leisure Centres win national award for the 2nd year running
Sandiacre Friesland Sports Centre and Albion Leisure Centre have both won a national award for excellence in customer satisfaction.
Earlier this year the leisure centres each took part in Sport England’s National Benchmarking Survey (NBS) which asked customers, over a 9 day period, different questions about their experiences at the centre. The results are then compared against other leisure centres across the country and this year put both centres in the top 10 best performers in England.
This is the 2nd year that Friesland Sports centre has been recognised by Sport England. In 2006 the centre won the NBS award for excellence in customer satisfaction.
The achievement awards will be presented later this month at the NBS national conference where the centre staff have also been asked to complete a presentation and share best practice with other leisure centres across the country.
