Housing Strategy

Erewash Housing Strategy for 2009 – 10

The Housing Strategy sets out what we will do to deliver the right mix of housing and housing related services for our communities to live in and enjoy a good quality of life.

It was formally adopted by the Borough Council in December 2008.

The Strategy has been produced in consultation with key stakeholders and partners. More than 250 individuals, agencies and organisations were asked to comment on the draft.

Affordable Housing Annual Report

The Erewash Annual Report on Affordable Housing for 2007-08 outlines:

  • The number and type of affordable houses and flats built or bought during the year.
  • How these have been enabled through Housing Corporation funding, Council initiatives and funding, Planning negotiations
  • The ongoing need for affordable housing
  • Future challenges

We are pleased that 135 units were delivered during the year, which well exceeds our target of 60. However, we are conscious of the challenges ahead in the current unpredictable housing market conditions.
