One Stop Approach

The staff at Erewash are keen that we do our best for you as our customer. We would like to ensure that your first contact with our development team is one of success. To this aim we hope to provide a high quality and efficient service by way of its highly qualified staff. Your approach to Development Services may be your first direct contact you have had with your Local Authority, so we hope that this first experience is a good one. The Development Service Sections have been brought together to offer all your development needs, enquires can be answered by a single visit, we will make available Local Plan Officers, Development Control Officers, Environmental Health Officers and Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Your first step would be, for you to approach the development services team with your proposal, (Planning or Building Control) with a view to arranging an informal meeting with all the relevant services. To this end it would be of benefit if you could provide preliminary drawings of your proposal prior to the meeting to ensure we invite the necessary people to attend.

This will enable us to offer you the best advice/guidance. Any potential stumbling blocks in your proposal then can be identified at an early stage for you, so that you can leave the meeting knowing of any of the areas of concern in your design that need to be overcome.
