Building Control provides a statutory consultancy service that enforces public health and safety through the Building Regulations and associated legislation.  The service, which is fee income generating subject to competition from the private sector, includes the following:-

Our Service

Erewash Borough Council seek to deliver a high quality, customer focused Building Control package.  In order to achieve this we can tailor the service to meet your individual needs.  Included within this, we provide:

• Preliminary advice on all building regulation related aspects, including means of escape and fire precautions.
• Specialist advice pre and post application on all aspects of building accessibility.
• Comprehensive site inspections and on-site advice.
• All necessary statutory consultations.
• A competitive fee structure, which can be negotiated on major build schemes.
• Ability to partner with you for schemes both within and outside the Erewash Borough boundary to provide you with a consistent approach and service tailored to your needs.

With the benefit of pre-application involvement we can deliver a more streamlined approval process.

Erewash Borough Building Control has close links with other Council sections including Development Control, Environmental Health and Highways.  We have developed a good working relationship with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

With respect to construction in the Borough, we have a wealth of previous experience including knowledge in relation to ground conditions etc.
