DEAD ANIMALS
The Council will remove dead animals from the public highway and will respond quickly to such instances.
Sadly sometimes these are domestic pets.
To report a dead animal, or if you have lost your pet and fear it may have been run over, please contact us and we will make further enquires.
You will need to provide the following details:
- location or address of dead animal
- brief details of animal, such as type, colour, size; and
- the time at which you saw the animal.

All animals, once removed, are disposed of as quickly as possible for health and safety reasons. Please note that we are unable to keep dead animals for private burial.
Our cleansing teams do try to record all domestic pets we have collected. However, it is not always possible to do this due to the nature of the incident.
Unfortunately we are not able to remove dead animals from private land or properties.
