The Green Space Strategy has been developed in partnership with Ashley Godfrey Associates and follows on from the work they carried out in conjunction with RBA Research in producing the PPG17 Open Space Audit.
The Green Space Strategy sets out the Borough’s vision for using green space and the goals it wants to achieve, plus the resources, methods and time needed to meet these goals.
It is a comprehensive, council-wide document, which should contribute to delivering the Council’s aims and objectives set out in the community strategy.
Delivery of this strategy is a cross departmental exercise as it will have implications for Development and Regulatory Services, Cultural and Leisure Services and Neighbourhood Services.
Public Consultation
A six week public consultation exercise ended on the 21 January 2008. A number of representation in support of, or objecting to, the content of the Strategy were received. The representations are now being processed, and possible amendments made, before the Strategy is adopted by the Council this summer.
