Conservation Area Appraisals
Erewash Borough Council has produced four draft appraisals for the following Conservation Areas:
Dale Abbey Conservation Area Appraisal
Long Eaton Town Centre Conservation Area Appraisal
Ockbrook Moravian Settlement Conservation Area Appraisal
Erewash Borough Council has also produced the Long Eaton Town Centre Conservation Area Management Plan - Sustainabilty Appraisal.
Long Eaton Conservation Area Management Plan - Sustainability Appraisal
The appraisals identify the special architectural and historic interest evident in each Conservation Area. Each appraisal is an attempt to give some clarity to the character and appearance of the area in order to establish what is considered significantly important, thus worthy of preservation and enhancement. Conversely each document also considers negative aspects found in the Conservation Area, where there may be scope for improvement or enhancement to take place.
Once adopted, the appraisals will form a material consideration in the decision-making process of any planning application submitted for development in the conservation area.
Prior to adoption, a six-week public consultation period is being undertaken. This commenced on the 2nd April 2007 and will finish on the 14th May 2007.
