Residential Space Guidelines
Why are Guidelines Necessary?
One of the aims of the Borough Council is to make Erewash a more attractive place in which to live. One of the ways to achieve this is to ensure that new housing developments provide attractive and reasonable amounts of private amenity space to give residents privacy and to enable them to fully enjoy their homes. New guidelines were adopted from 1st April 1996. Although they are not mandatory, the guidelines will be used in determining all planning applications for new residential development.
Prior to submitting planning applications prospective developers are advised to contact the Borough Council to discuss their proposals and layout. telephone 0115 907 2240.
For further advice regarding the submission of planning applications please see the planning Help and Guidance page.
