From August 2007, Community Safety Partnerships have a new duty to produce a Strategic Assessment; a document that sets out all the data we have for the borough in relation to crime and disorder and gives us our main priorities. We also have a legal requirement to use this information and produce a partnership plan.
The plan sets out how we will tackle crime, disorder and behaviour adversely affecting the communities we serve under the priorities identified in the Strategic Assessment. It also builds on the work completed under the previous Community Safety Strategies.
The Strategic Assessment is a yearly document. The Partnership Plan lasts for 3 years, but is reviewed every year and is informed by the annual Strategic Assessment. These are to be published on the 1st April each year.
Our four priorities for 2008-11 are:
- Anti-social behaviour
- Assault with injury
- Domestic abuse
- Serious acquisitive crime
The plan identifies objectives that we will work to in order to tackle these priorities. This information can be found in our summary leaflet (
PDF 326Kb). The full version of the plan (
PDF 4Mb) shows the actions that we intend to take to work towards achieving our objectives. This will then help us tackle our priorities.
Erewash Community Safety Partnership will do everything in its power to reduce crime, the fear of crime, and to communicate our work to our many communities. We have set challenging and sustainable targets in our plan that can be monitored over the next three years. We are confident we can build on the strong foundations that have been established and make real inroads in tackling crime and disorder in Erewash.
